Grenville Mellen Dodge (1831-1916)

Grenville Mellen Dodge was a Union soldier who served as colonel of the 4th Iowa and was subsequently promoted to brigadier and major general of volunteers. After the war, Dodge was elected to the U.S. Congress for one term, but declined renomination and devoted himself to making a fortune in the railroad business.
