Francis Jay Herron (1837-1902)

Francis Jay Herron was a major general in the Union Army. He was the youngest major general of either side in the Civil War when he was appointed at age twenty-five. In 1893 he was given the Congressional Medal of Honor for his heroism at Pea Ridge, where he was wounded and captured in 1861.
