Benjamin McCulloch (1811-1862)
Ben McCulloch was a Confederate general in the Civil War. He followed Davy Crockett to Texas, where he became an Indian fighter. He was appointed brigadier general in May 1861. He commanded troops in Arkansas, at Wilson's Creek and at Pea Ridge, where he was killed by sharpshooters in March 1862. This carte de visite features an engraved portrait of McCulloch.
