Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902)
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was an American reformer and leader in the women's rights movement who in 1848 formulated the first organized demand for women's suffrage in the United States. She was a popular lecturer and a prolific writer, the author of the "Woman's Bible," "History of Woman Suffrage," and her autobiography, "Eighty Years and More."
