James Ewell Brown Stuart

Jeb Stuart, a Confederate major general and cavalryman, was considered by Robert E. Lee to be the "eyes of the army." Upon his death, during an engagement with Sheridan, Lee said, "He never brought me a false piece of information." Stuart made two "rides round McClellan" and carried off several famous cavalry skirmishes before being mortally wounded at Yellow Tavern.
