Josiah Quincy (1772-1864)

Josiah Quincy was an American politician from Massachusetts who served as a United States congressman, a state senator, mayor of Boston, and president of Harvard University. He was a federalist who opposed the war of 1812 and slavery. As mayor of Boston, he built the Faneuil Hall market.
