William Reid

This is probably the William Reid who was a banker and railroad executive in Portland, Oregon. Reid was the president of the Portland National Bank. He also led a group of Scottish investors in narrow gauge railway companies such as the Portland and Willamette Railway and the Oregonian Railway Bridge Co. He appears on this carte de visite from the John Fergus studio, circa 1880.
