Charles O'Ferrall (1840-1905)
Charles O'Ferrall was a U.S. representative from Virginia and governor of that state. He enlisted in the Confederate Cavalry in 1861 and rose through the ranks until, at the end of the war, O'Ferrall was in command of the Confederate Cavalry in the Shenandoah Valley. He was elected as a Democrat for six terms in Congress (1884-1993). O'Ferrall then became governor of Virginia (1894-1898).
