Daniel O'Connell (1775-1847)

Daniel O'Connell was an Irish orator and statesman at the forefront of the Irish Repeal Movement for Catholic emancipation. He was the first Catholic in modern times to sit in the House of Commons and was elected the Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1841. This carte de visite from the Anthony studio is a photograph of a painting.
