James O'Brien (1841-1907)
James O'Brien emigrated from Ireland and settled in New York City in 1861. He served as an alderman and a sheriff in New York City and as a New York state representative. He was elected to the United States House of Representatives from New York in 1879 and served until 1881. He worked as a broker until his death in 1907.
