Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (1819-1905)

Alexander Fitzwilliam Tait was a painter who was born in Liverpool, England. A sporting painter, he specialized in hunting and fishing scenes. He came to America in 1850 and settled in New York, frequenting the Adirondacks. Tait became a member of the National Academy of Design.
