Enrico Tamberlik (1829-1889)

Enrico Tamberlik, a tenor, was a famous nineteenth-century opera singer. In 1852 he was Otello at the Royal Opera House. Tamberlik also performed with the Kirov Opera in Russia. Tamberlik could manage the dizziest of heights; Verdi wrote his first sustained top C in 1862 for Tamberlik when he played Alvaro in "La Forza del Destino."
