The Windsor Hotel on Fifth Avenue, New York City

Built in 1873 and destroyed by fire in 1899, the 500-room hotel covered two-thirds of an acre. It stood between 46th and 47th Streets on Fifth Avenue. The Church of the Heavenly Rest can be seen in the right foreground.
