George William Taylor (1808-1862)
George William Taylor was a brigadier general of volunteers in the Union Army. When young he was an officer in the navy, but he joined the army during the Mexican War. Taylor was in reserve at 1st Bull Run but while he led his brigade at 2nd Bull Run he was mortally wounded.
