Evan Thomas

Evan Thomas was a major in the U.S. Army, Fourth Artillery. During the Civil War he was brevetted for Gettysburg and Fredericksburg. On April 26, 1873, Major Thomas and his unit were killed by the Modoc tribe of Oregon and northern California.
