Charles Pope (1832-1899)
Born in Germany, Charles Roehr Pope was an actor. He made his debut at Rochester, New York, as Sir Walter Blunt in "Richard the Third." He performed at the Old Bowery and then toured California. He made his New York City debut in 1864 in Niblo's Garden as Chateau-Renaud in the "Corsican Brothers."
