Israel B. Richardson (1815-1862)
Israel Bush Richardson was a major general of volunteers in the Union Army. A West Pointer, he fought in the Seminole and Mexican wars, and earned the moniker of "Fighting Dick" for his courage. He was promoted to major general on July 4, 1862, and died at Antietam, November 3, 1862.
