George Maxwell Robeson (1829-1897)

George Maxwell Robeson was a Civil War brigadier general in the New Jersey Militia, secretary of the Navy under Ulysses S. Grant (1869-1877) and a United States congressman from 1879 to 1883. His term as secretary of the Navy was criticized for favoritism and extravagance.
