George B. Loring (1817-1891)

George Bailey Loring was the U.S. commissioner of agriculture. Loring was a member of the Massachusetts state house of representatives and senate, a delegate to the Republican national convention in 1868, 1872, and 1876, and a U.S. congressman from 1876 to 1880. He was a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School.
