Looking Backward

This cartoon by Joseph Keppler, the founder of "Puck," is entitled "Looking Backward" and states, "They would close to the newcomer the bridge that carried them and their fathers over." The cartoon criticizes the hypocrisy of successful Americans whose own families were immigrants, but who now seek to limit immigration into America.
