Baron Osten Sacken (1828-1906)

Baron Carl Robert Osten Sacken was a well known diplomat and entomologist. He was the Russian General Counsel in New York during the Civil War. Osten Sacken published a highly regarded "Catalogue of Diptera of North America." He lived in the U.S. from 1856 to 1877.
