E. H. Sanford

This carte de visite has a handwritten notation on the front: "E. H. Sanford, No. 1 Reserve Am. Team." He appears here on a carte de visite from the Napoleon Sarony studio in New York City, circa 1870. There was an E. H. Sanford who owned boats in New York (1854-1862) and won a major ice yacht regatta in Wisconsin in 1883.
