Daniel F. Tiemann (1805-1899)

Daniel Fawcett Tiemann was the mayor of New York City from 1858 to 1860. The principal event during his administration was the laying of the Atlantic telegraph cable and on that occasion he sent a congratulatory message to the mayor of London.
