Edwin Ticknor

Edwin Ticknor was born in Middlebury, Vermont, in 1835. He went to Missouri in 1857 and became a merchant. Ticknor was treasurer of the St. Louis branch of the U.S. Christian Commission, an important relief organization during the Civil War. He appears here on a carte de visite from the T. L. River studio in St. Louis, circa 1870.
