Peter Schuyler (1657-1724)

This is a carte de visite engraved copy of a painting of Colonel Peter Schuyler, who was a hero of the French and Indian War (1746-48). He outfitted and marched New Jersey troops to Canada. An Albany merchant, Schuyler was mayor of that city for twelve successive years.
