Young Leo, Worker at the Elk Cotton Mill
Lewis W. Hine included the following caption with the photograph he took on November 17, 1910, at the Elk Cotton Mill in Fayetteville, Tennessee: "Leo 48 inches high, 8 years old. Picks up bobbins at 15 [cents] a day in Elk Cotton Mill. He said, 'No I don't help sister or mother, just myself.'"
