Ida Tarbell (1857-1944)
Ida Tarbell was an investigative journalist, lecturer, and chronicler of American industry, best known for her classic, "The History of the Standard Oil Company," which was an indictment of John D. Rockefeller and his business practices. Frances Benjamin Johnston took this portrait sometime between 1890 and 1910.
