Henry W. Wessells (1809-1889)
Henry Walton Wessells was a Union general. He was graduated from West Point in 1833 and served in the Seminole and Mexican wars. During the Civil War Wessells was wounded at Fair Oaks and named brigadier general of volunteers in 1862. After the war he was brevetted brigadier general for war service, remained in the regular army, and served in the West until he retired in 1871.
