William Walker (1824-1860)
William Walker was an American adventurer and filibuster who conquered Nicaragua and served for a short period as its president. Walker later tried to take over Honduras, but was captured and executed by a firing squad. He graduated from the University of Nashville at the age of fourteen and received a medical degree in 1843 from the University of Pennsylvania.
