Henrietta Vallee, Mrs. Ben De Bar (b. 1828)
Henrietta "Hattie" Vallee, a dancer and actress, was born in Philadelphia and debuted at the Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia, in 1839, as a "danseuse," or ballet dancer. She married the actor Benedict De Bar in 1843 and they frequently performed together. In 1848 Mrs. De Bar starred in "The French Spy" at the Park Theatre. She retired from the stage in 1857 in New Orleans.
