Alice Harrison (1850-1896)
Alice Harrison was a popular nineteenth-century actress and singer, born Alice Maude Metz. She made her stage debut at the Chestnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia at age eleven. Harrison's New York debut was in 1866 as Fan God in the "Ice Witch." She toured California as a star and then made a transition into opera bouffe as Yum-Yum in "The Mikado" on Broadway.
