Lina Edwin
This may perhaps be Lina Edwin, who was a popular nineteenth-century actress and a theater manager. She created a company of her own which performed at Hooley's Opera House in Brooklyn in 1870. In September 1870 Edwin moved to Hope Chapel in New York City, renaming it Lina Edwin's Theatre. Fire destroyed the building in 1872. In this photo from the Gurney studio the young lady poses wearing a modish hat.
