Mrs. Mary E. Hill (d.1868)
Mrs. Mary E. Hill was murdered in her Philadelphia home on November 22, 1868. Her daughter, Camilla E. Twitchell, and her son-in-law, George S. Twitchell, Jr., were arrested. In 1869 Mrs. Twitchell was acquitted but George Twitchell was convicted and sentenced to be hung. On the day of his execution he committed suicide.
