Abby Hutchinson (1829-1892)

The Hutchinson Family Singers were one of the most popular touring musical groups in the mid-nineteenth century. There were eleven sons and two daughters. Abby was considered too young to perform when the group began in 1841. But her parents soon relented and she became a central part of the group. They sang at the White House in 1862.
