Annie Lonsdale
Born in England, Annie Lonsdale was an actress. She made her U.S. debut at Wallack's Theatre in New York, in 1852, as Captain Charlotte. As late as 1871 Lonsdale was performing at the St. James Theater in New York. The actress eventually retired from the stage and married John Darcey. Composer Thomas Baker dedicated the "Captain Charlotte Polka" (1853) and the "Good for Nothing Polka" to Lonsdale.
