Benjamin Wood (1820-1900)

Benjamin Wood was a U.S. representative from New York and the brother of Fernando Wood, mayor of New York City in the 1850s and 60s. Benjamin Wood purchased the "Daily News" in 1860 and edited it until his death. He was also elected as a Democrat to three terms in Congress (1861-65 and 1881-83).
