Marie Wilkins and Fanny Morant (1821-1900)
Mrs. Marie Wilkins (left), a comedic actress, made her debut at London's Haymarket Theatre as Widow Green in "Love Chase" (1858). Wilkins went to New York, to appear at Wallack's in 1863. In 1874 Wilkins was in "The Two Orphans" with the Union Square Theatre. British actress Fanny Morant (right) debuted at London's Drury Lane Theatre. Morant visited California in 1859 and in 1860 landed a part at Wallack's Theatre, where she remained until 1869, when she joined Edwin Booth's new theater.
