Eugenie Pappenheim (1849-1924)
Eugenie Pappenheim was an opera singer. She debuted as Valentine in Meyerbeer's "Les Huguenots" in Leipzig, Vienna, Berlin, and Hamburg. Pappenheim then made her career in the U.S., singing Brunnhilde in "Die Walkure" and Irene in "Rienzi." After resigning from the stage she taught singing in New York. She poses with her left hand raised at the Sarony studio in New York.
