Betty Rigl (b.1845)
Betty Rigl was a dancer from Holland. She began her career in variety shows and music halls in England, and then came to the U.S. to perform in the original "Black Crook," at Niblo's Garden in 1866. Rigl was the sister of Emily Rigl, also a dancer. Here she poses in a ballerina costume, replete with tiara, at the Gurney studio in New York.
