Alice Kingsbury

Actress, artist, and writer Alice Kingsbury, "the Elfin Star," made her 1859 debut in Cincinnati as Bianca. In 1866 she starred as Fanchon in San Francisco, and shortly thereafter gave up the stage for sculpting. Kingsbury wrote and illustrated "Ho! For Elf-Land!" in 1877.
