Kate Claxton (1848-1924)

Kate Claxton (Kate Cone) made her acting debut with Lotta Crabtree in Chicago. In 1874 she played Louise, the blind girl in "The Two Orphans," the part with which she was identified for the rest of her life. For many years Claxton traveled at the head of her own company.
