Lillian Conway
Actress Lillian Conway was the younger daughter of Sarah Crocker Conway and Frederick B. Conway, two actors and theater managers in New York. Lillian made her long-awaited debut in the 1873 production of "Virginius" at Mrs. Conway's Park Theatre in Brooklyn. Lillian and her sister Marie were the darlings of Brooklyn. This beautifully hand-tinted carte de visite is from the Warren studio of Boston. Here Lillian poses as a young girl in an early photo of her, from the Howell studio in New York.
