Minnie Cummings
Minnie L. Cummings, actress, playwright, entrepreneur, and reformer, debuted as Juliet in 1877 at Booth's Theatre. She opened "Minnie Cummings' Drawing Room Theatre" in 1878. In 1880 Cummings wrote, produced, and starred in "Suspected," at New York's Fifth Avenue Theatre. The actress helped found the Women's Property Protection League and the Actor's Fund. Here Cummings poses in costume at the Sarony studio.
