Effie Germon (c.1843-1914)
Actress Effie Germon excelled as a soubrette. The daughter of actors Greene C. Germon and Jane Andrews, she debuted at the Holliday Street Theatre in Baltimore. Germon quit the stage to marry violinist Carlo Patti (brother of Adelina Patti), but later returned to star at the Chestnut Street Theatre (1863-64). The actress became famous when a picture of her was found on John Wilkes Booth after his death. In an unusually erotic and romantic pose, Germon bares her shoulder at the Howell studio in New York.
