Giuseppina Morlacchi (1836-1886)

Giuseppina (or Josephine) Morlacchi was a celebrated European dancer when she debuted in the U.S. in 1867. In 1868 the danseuse formed the Morlacchi Ballet. The ballerina married "Texas Jack" (John Omohundro) in 1873 and toured with Buffalo Bill. When in 1880 Morlacchi retired to Lowell, MA, she taught dance to the local mill girls.
