Clara Morris (1848-1925)
Clara Morris, actress and writer, shone at realistic stage portrayals of unfortunate characters such as Camille. Critics marvelled at her success, as she had little training. After Morris's retirement her finances waned and she began to write, publishing "A Silent Singer" (1899) and other titles.
