Dan Godfrey (1868-1938)
Sir Dan Godfrey, British conductor and composer, studied at the Royal Academy of Music, then established the Bournemouth Orchestra at that seaside resort. Godfrey helped make band performances more respected. The orchestra leader also composed some dance pieces and light music. Godfrey poses at the Warren studio in Boston during the late 1890s.
