Helene Leroux-Bouvard
Helene Leroux-Bouvard, a vocalist from France, performed in opera-bouffe. A member of Grau's French Opera Company, she made her 1879 New York debut as Philine in "Mignon" at Booth's Theatre. Leroux remained with Grau throughout 1882, then joined Madame Theo's company in 1883, performing at Daly's, the New York Casino, and the Grand Opera House. Leroux-Bouvard poses here in costume at the Mora studio in New York.
