Cornelia Jefferson (b.1835)
Cornelia Jefferson was an actress. She made her debut at the Front Street Theatre in Baltimore as the Duke of York in "Richard II" or "Richard III" in 1853. Jefferson made her first New York appearance at the Chatham Theatre as Little Pickle in the popular "Spoiled Child" in 1849. In 1851 she debuted in Philadelphia at the Arch Street Theatre in "Somebody Else." Jefferson poses, in an ornate and revealing costume, at the Gurney studio in New York City, circa 1860.
