Avonia Jones (1839-1867)
Actress Avonia Stanhope Jones made her debut in Philadelphia in 1856 as Parthenia in "Ingomar." In 1859 she first appeared at Tom Maguire's Opera House in San Francisco. Jones made her English debut at Drury Lane as Medea. While in England in 1867, the actress caught pneumonia and died at 28.
